Hello!

For those that own a thermomix, is it worth it? I love the idea of having a recipe to follow on screen that does it all for me.

  • I gerenally love the idea of it and having one machine that can replace multiple in the kitchen making it space saving too. The guided recipes is definitely what makes me interested the most as i hate cleaning multiple cooking pots and pans but again, expensive, whether i use it enough is another story.

  • To be quite honest no, I don’t think it’s worth it. I have always done without one and then one day finally got one and realised that while it is great it wasn’t really worth the cost in comparison to how I had been making stuff previously. That being said I don’t cook a lot a lot so maybe someone who is a more frequent baker might disagree

  • I’ve heard mixed things about the Thermomix. If you love the idea of having a guided recipe with everything done for you, it’s definitely a game-changer. The convenience is unreal, and the versatility, like chopping, blending, and cooking all in one machine, saves a ton of time. Some people swear by it, but others feel it’s a bit pricey for what it offers. Have you tried it yet, or are you just considering it?

  • I don’t have a thermomix, so can’t fully answer your question. I have been tempted in the past, but have been put off by the feeling that I really don’t need yet another appliance taking up space in my kitchen. I also have to say that the fact they are very expensive is offputting.

  • I’ve seen a lot of hype and appreciation for the Thermomix, and it does sound like a handy appliance. I don’t love how they responded to their explosive model that was giving users terrible burns which makes me uneasy on the brand. I believe they initially tried to push back on customers to fix it themself, until they were forced to find a solution. I think it was a topic covered in one of Ann’s How To Cook That’s videos

  • From what I understand the Thermomix is still quite popular, I think especially because it can replace a multiple of appliances, which in the end will safe space in the cupboard or on your counter.. It can act as a food processor, blender, mixer, steamer and probably more. I myself never had one, but my friend swears by it.

  • I’ll be interested in the answers here as I know nothing about them really and can’t see the value in such a huge expense. You would have to use it a lot. I imagine it is all one pot recipes for meals and it doesn’t look that big or is otherwise a glorified mixer or processor with a small bowl. lol
