I still have trouble getting my kods to try new food I tell them one bite if you dony like it then thats ok but you have to try to know have a look at little bemto world of fb aswell and maybe the cutters etc she sells may help
You could try disguising the food with colours or different shapes, or even crumbing the food, it is amazing how adding different colour to food makes a difference( rice add food colouring to make it interesting) Cut veggies into small animals, cars or any theme your child likes.
Crumbing food will help introduce them to new flavours. Most kids think if it is crumbed its nice.
Often trying new foods in a restaurant / cafe or at someones house and then recreating it at home another night works well. my kids love asian style of cooking and those restaurants are great as you can order a couple of dishes and they can try and pick off different dishes without having to order a whole one for themselves and because you share the food there is no pressure.
We find our 2 yr old goes through phases of refusing some foods. However over the week she generally gets sufficient food from each of the food groups. We found she was more likely to try them or eat foods if we didn’t push the issue (pretty much just put it out there for her), ate it in front of her (our own serves) or she loves it when her big sister feeds her (a novelty action). We tried hiding foods in other foods but that never worked. Sometimes she refuses it totally but we don’t worry she won’t starve she will eat it eventually.
It’s very frustrating, my granson did this for a year, I was worried he would get sick or be underweight, but the doctor said it was normal, some kids are just fussy.
I used to make a game of it and have competitions with him who could eat it all first, that worked for a while, so try to be patient, I know it’s not easy, but they do grow out of it eventually.
Good luck!!
I would keep offering as other mums are right. One day they dislike a food the next it’s their favourite. Also to get them used to the flavour try hiding it in things.
Just put a little of the new foods on the side of his plat or bowl. He might just try them. Do it a few times children need to try food a few times to get used to new flavours.
just mash it into other food they like and always try and offer different foods whether they take them or not and the more they try something they will end up eating it
I put a variety on the plat as kids can love one thing one day and hate it the next and always offer them some of what you are eating. I had one like that but if it was on Hubby’s plate they wanted it so for a while I put extra on his plate
Make the food fun, get some cookie cutters and cut sandwihes into shapes or display it in some fun way ie u could make a smiley face on the plate from a sausage and some veggies
