On time to bed with a good book in a comfy position and relax. Get your focus off wanting to fall asleep quickly, as the opposite might happen. I learnt myself to be happy when I’m not falling asleep quickly, when I’m not sleeping my body get to rest on my mattress anyway, and when I’m not sleeping at all, I do not get annoyed but think I most likely sleep the following night 🙂
Hi lovely, I use meditation music on YouTube to help fall asleep. Tunes out all the nonsense in my head when I’m trying to fall asleep. It has been a great help. Good luck ????
I have a vapouriser and some 123 nourish me sleepyhead aromatherapy drops that I put in it. It’s meant for kids but I find it works well for me too. Also magnesium is great for helping with sleep. you can get lots of different types of body washes / lotions and things that contain magnesium.
Try not to stress which is easy to say but if you can find something that relaxes you that will usually do it because you’re tired anyway. For me it’s reading.
A darkened room, no screen time at least an hour before sleep time. And I read the other day…..blinking your eyes rapidly helps you fall asleep. I haven’t tried it myself, hope it works
Congratulations on your newborn 🙂 Trying to get enough sleep is perhaps the trickiest part of having a new baby. I find it trickier trying to get to sleep when I feel pressure to. Therefore……are you able to remove that pressure? Do you have to start your day at 7 or 8 in the morning or are you able to sleep through until the next feed? The sleep you are having is probably regularly broken, so you don’t have to feel guilty about sleeping longer – if you can. I promise this is just a stage. They do eventually sleep through the night. My eldest is 15 and it’s now harder to wake her. Rest well 🙂
