Hello!

Wanting to hear from mums who are pregnant with their second child with a toddler under the age of 2. And who have recently had their second bub. How are you coping with everything? The mornng sickness, cleaning, looking after the baby – just everything really. I would love another babe but I don’t deal with stress easily. Thanks.

  • These answers are what I needed to read right now

  • Once you settle into a routine, it runs pretty smoothly. Just takes a bit of time getting into that routine, and can be tiring, but that’s to be expected at the start

  • its hard work and no fun if im honest but i had a tough pregnancy, you might not be so unlucky, you may sail through it. I had Nausea and was so tired the whole time i turnt into a couch potato as did miss 2, but really no harm done two very happy children now without any repercusions.
cleaning is the last thing i worry about nowadays, i get out every day whether its to study at college and girls are in part time child care, or a playgroup or activity.
keep busy out of the house and there will be less mess and less stress.

  • It was hard, worth it, but so hard. Would I do it again? I think so. I don’t think it makes too much difference when you have baby number 2, it will still be a drain on your energy. Relax is the best advice I can give. Look after yourself and the kids, don’t worry about others tsk tsk-ing you for not vacuuming/washing up/dusting etc etc. number 1 priority is you and the kids, if you’re all ok, all us good

  • That was me!! Give toddler special role of helping out. Then they feel valued. It takes energy, but when baby asleep or content. Do an activity on floor with your toddler. It’s balance. Good luck and remember it’s trial and error sometimes. I gave my baby the toddlers pram, which was hers! Error. Should have bought a double pram. I literaally took her pram from her. I didn’t think she would be so upset. So I can’t go back in time, but toddler not feeling pushed out is advice I can give, from experience.

  • Accept help from friends and family! Don’t be too proud to ask if you’re having a struggle day. People are more than willing to help :)

  • Very hard to fit everything, but we have to do what we need to do. Try to plan things out one week in advance as much as you can since this will help in taking some of the stress out.

  • it is tough but you just do what you got to do :-) my older 2 there is 19mths between them then i have an 8 year gap then went back with next 2 and only 11mths between these 2, i think it depends on you, the new baby sleeps more so spend time with older one then and do housework when you can etc. none of my kdis have ever gone to daycare or been babysat but if you have these options it should be a breeze :-) lol some of the time

  • How is it all going now?

  • Perhaps a good time to give day care a go?

  • i hope all went well!

  • Hope all goes well and the advice below helps.

  • I don’t know how I managed with the first :) A friend of mine has two and the older one goes to day care 2-3 days a week. She says it is great as the older boy gets to socialise with other children and she gets time to do housework etc. Getting your shopping delivered is also another stress reliever.

  • How is it going now?

  • Try not to stress, if you have a husband or partner try and get them to help you

  • I dont deal with stress easily either but I managed to cope.

  • Yes, it is tough, but you do managed to work your way around things to get things done.

  • It’s tough no doubt about it, but you will get through-you will surprise yourself with how much you can handle, I think as mums we just cope because we have to.

  • As a mum, you just do what you have to do to get by. If you want another baby, you’ll find a way to make it work

  • Hope things are going well with all the useful tips
