Hello!

I’m about to go on a trip overseas with my 4 young children (6,5,3,1) I just wondered if anyone has great tips for the adventure we are going on… how to keep the children happy and entertained and if people actually survived traveling with multiplied children. Also some advice on how to prevent/treat sore ears from flying. Thank you so much.

  • My doctor recommended dimetapp for my daughter when we go flying. Meant to be great with the ears. Also take lots paper n colouring in, if u have a porta ppl DVD play take it as well as an iPad or phone with lots of fun apps. Cards like snap cards, playdogh, books and lots of snacks.

  • The one thing you need in abundance is patience 🙂 activity books to amuse also help.

  • Plenty of prior preparation and planning! Chewing and sucking helps ear pressure so can holding your nose & blowing (or trying to blow up a balloon? that at least you can practice!) Your definitely going to need entertainment, individual units if possible like iTouch’s or iPad mini’s would be ideal (and save any arguments) and plenty of food! low sugar, low GI snacks would be best but never discount the power of good old fashioned bribery!) and try not to stress over potential problems, enjoy the time & adventure with your young family, you’ll be home before you know it! Maybe work out a buddy system and don’t be afriad to pop a ‘leash’ or kiddy lead on them, ignore what others may think or say, safety is more important!

  • take something from home like a fav toy for little ones and have them a few snacks that they can have on plane as theyre lil ears may pop
