Hello!

I really need help on choosing a toaster, I have been through soo many the last few years, from both expensive brands and cheaper brands and they just don’t last! Who has a toaster that has lasted more than five years?? I wish I could buy one that lasted 10years!

  • I would have to say the Target brand toasters are great a good price and come in a red colour too I have had mine now for over 4 years and paid like $25

  • My toaster has lasted more than 10 years until a visiting friend of my teenager stuck some thick raisen toast down the slot and then used a knife to poke it out, damaging the element. It was a $7 K-mart cheapie. We are very happy with the cheapies. And replaced immediately with the cheapest we could find. Still going well. I wonder what is breaking on your ones? Is someone poking things down it? or cooking things other than bread? I had no idea they were a problem.

  • Don’t get a Contempo from Big W they are not great. We got a great 4 slice one from Kmart which is black and chrome it looks great think it was around $39.00.

  • I also need a toaster,they don’t make them to last anymore!!!

  • I have had my Breville Smart Toaster 2 slice for 5 years now and have never had a problem with it. My family have the same one but 4 slice which they have had for 8 years and that hasn’t had any problems either.

  • I loved my previous breville toaster but when it died I bough my current kambrook toaster. Avoid those like the plague it either doesn’t cook at all or burns toast but only on one side

  • I was sick of toasters too and I got a Russell Hobbs one and had it about 6 or 7 years now. So just think it’s a bit like a lucky dip as I’ve had different brands and remember it’s a throw away world now with Appliances.

  • Mines going strong. Remembering to clean the toaster tray etc helps

  • I had one from The Reject Shop that lasted about 15 years – longer than any recent name brand purchases!

  • I with toasters I think the last one I had that lasted over two years was an old sunbeam. Can’t find them any more-well not the same sort.also have trouble

  • A good old silver Kmart toaster. I don’t think it was even $20? Had it for well over 5 years now.

  • I have a 4 slice Tiffany Toaster that I have had for about 15 years! Although I don’t use it every day, it still gets a good work out and is still going strong. I can’t remember where I got it from … I would think it was probably Dick Smith or the Good Guys.
