Hello!

I was wanting to ask mums what they did with their little ones at their wedding? I feel my little miss (2-3) will get bored at the reception but everyone who would babysit will be there?

  • I took some play doh, pencils and paper, that kept my 2 year old busy at my cousins reception, the music

  • Hope you find some answers and tips here

  • SHe might make a few friends her age at the wedding?!

  • I also think my son would be a handful. It really depends on their personality. Maybe take along paper, crayons, small toys that she can play with

  • She might have a ball, will there be other kids there? A relative to dance with? Quiet colouring and DVDs are another good idea from a previous poster.

  • we took our daughter to our wedding and brought along textas and pencils along with a colouring book we also brought along a portable dvd player with her fav movies between all that and everyone giving cuddles she was very occupied

  • i think they will have a great time, just talk to parents or aunties who can help and just tel them what you would like, enjoy your day and dont stress 🙂

  • you will find there are lots of willing babysitters at the wedding!! lots of cuddles, great dancing and a nice experience for everyone to meet.

  • You could find out if she could stay with a friends children and whoever is babysitting them

  • You may be pleasantly surprised at how enterained she is by family and friends being there. Ask close family members if they would help by taking turns to look after her.

  • you might be surprised at how entertained she will be with all your family and friends around 🙂 I got married earlier this year and although my daughter was a little older at 9 and a half, she had an absolute ball and was still dancing the night away at 1130!! Maybe organise someone to take some of her favourite toys, colouring in books and paper or even an portable dvd player to keep her amused. Or, if you still have some time up your sleeve, maybe hunt around for a package to keep her entertained, something like this: http://www.rosemarycompany.com/wedding_bridal/wedding-day-childrens-busy-box.html . Good luck and enjoy your day – it goes way too quickly!!!

  • Are there going to be other younger kids there? She might enjoy herself if there are.

  • I like your idea Mel1, to have a grandparent or aunty or cousin to look after her during the night while still being at the wedding.

  • I would also ask a favourite Aunty or Grandmother to look after her for the night. You’ll still be there for her, but she can have someone else look out for her.

  • If she is socialable she might be kept entertained by talking to your family and guests.

  • i would organise for a family member to leave earlier adn take her with them, but keep her at the reception as long as possible, take lots of toys, coloring books, etc to keep her ocupied and ask friends and family to help out by watching her so it doesnt ruin your day having to run around after a little one
