Hello!

I was thinking getting my daughter a tuffy tray for her birthday. Are they worth it? Like do you use it lots? Or is it something that ends up collecting dust?

  • I didn’t know the term “tuffy tray” either lol. We always did a lot of craft activities but never had a tuffy tray. We simply used a serving tray with an edge on the table for the more messy activities (such as glitter, kinetic sand an the like) or a plastic sheet on the table inside or ourside

  • I admit…I had to look up tuffy tray… and I guess it comes down to how crafty your daughter and household are. If she’s just into colouring, then no. But if she lives glitter and collage and playdough and the like, then what a great way to somewhat contain mess…I did use the word somewhat though… but easy to store!

  • I had something similar – can’t remember what it was called – and my kids loved it for a week for the novelty. After that it was hardly used. It wasn’t big enough for the kinds of play my kids liked – they were always very expansive. (And yes, a pain to clean up after.)

  • These must be having a moment, I’ve seen them everywhere. I’ve read some parents saying they are so handy, and others saying their kids never used them. For messy play it could be fun, or being able to keep small toys like cars in one spot and hoping kids will play in that space

  • I don’t have one but I’ve seen them be both. My sister has one and uses it all the time for her kids but they do a lot of messy play with it and have a lot of fun. I’ve seen other people whose kids are happy to just play on the floor or at the table and so it’s a waste. I guess it depends on your child and what kinds of activities you enjoy doing with her
