Hello!

After having three children I had piled on the kg’s and decided to finally lose weight. I must admit, I may have gone a little hard and fast, however within 6 months I dropped about 20kg. That is exactly what I wanted to happen, and now I am happy I can fit back into my pre-baby clothes. However, the unintended consequence from all of this is that I am left with saggy breasts. I know that you can’t choose where you lose your weight, but I didn’t have large breasts to begin with, and now they are basically wind socks, without the wind, and saggy skin. I’m not sure if its because I lost weight to fast or that’s just the way my body decided to get rid of fat. My question is, has this happened to anyone else, and is there anything to do, to add a bit more elasticity and shape or form back? I don’t want to consider surgery, its just that I’m in my mid 30’s and would like a bit of confidence back in this area.

  • Not sure if you breast fed your babies but if you did then its more likely from that then the weight loss although that does impact it also as breasts are made up mostly of fat.
I had 3 kids and also lost 20kg and would like to drop another 10. My boobs are ok but my stomach sags to hell and gone. The Doc told me that the only way to fix it is surgery. I cant afford the surgery and its a big surgery so not something i would be willing to put myself through either.

  • I would consider doing some weights that involve your pectoral muscles, use bio oil and massage it into the area.

I’m sure you look great but I know how you feel. The same has happened to my chest and it looks better when my boobs become more full as I get my period and then it returns to normal.

  • I would look into skin creams/oils that may help with elasticity.

  • I’m not sure whether there’s anything you can do other than the surgery. I would be investing in a good push up padded bra to give you some confidence. Oh and congratulations on losing all that weight, I bet you look amazing

  • I would get some pretty and supportive bras as once that adipose tissue has gone, it will change your breasts unless you put weight back on

  • I’d look into beauty supplements that support skin elasticity, a good bra, exercises in that area and skin firming creams!

  • Maybe get the advice of a personal trainer. Beneath the breasts are fibrous connective tissue and muscles that can be exercised to improve the overall appearance of your chest. Various chest exercises are recommended to improve not only muscle strength, but posture as well.

  • Everything I lose weight its in my face,my boobs and my feet its absolutely maddening

  • Somtimes it happens from being stretched when we get milk in. Happened to me. I had 3 kids in 3 years and I was very, very saggy and stretched from it. Now a couple years on is it only just looking much better. Your skin needs time to regenerate and build up collagen again. Use bio oil daily and take a collagen tablet, it will be a slow process but will get better over time.

  • You got great achievement.I agree with previous comment.Collagen supplement may help. There are several brands on the market. But make sure to choose great tasting ones. Some products may taste fishy.

  • Look at taking some collagen supplements, you can get it as a drink or tablets. it helps with skin elasticity which can help things perk up

  • Yes I agree, a good nice bra may give your confidence a boost as well.

  • As others have said, give it time. If you had small breasts in the beginning like I did, then slowly they will fill out as other areas of your body reduce their optimum area. Of course there is no ‘one size fits all’ and you don’t state how soon after your last baby you are asking this question, so I can only generalise. Good luck, and I hope it all works out for you. I had four children and breast fed them all and I now am in a D cup when before I was an A, but don’t have sail plane boobs at all.

  • 20kgs in 26 weeks doesn’t sound like you lost it too fast – it sounds ideal. Well done ! Good luck with finding a solution for your breasts :)

  • Just a good bra or surgery I would have thought.

  • Have you considered getting fitted for a really good bra? It’s surprising what a difference they can make sometimes.

  • First off well done on amazing weight loss. That’s a big achievement in itself

  • After having my first child, my breasts did the exactly the same thing. I would maybe consider surgery later in life, but while I am still having children it is out of the question for me. At the moment I wear Intimo Dream Bras to get that little extra form and shape. I find them really confidence building for when we go out somewhere and I want to look nice.

  • unfortunately apart from surgery there isn’t many options in this area. even if you strength trained in your pectoral area, It wouldn’t help with the lack of breast tissue in the actual breast. There skin may tighten, with help of cream etc. But unfortunately it is one of the side effects of breast feeding and then weight loss.

  • I had two kids, who were both 11lb+ and born within 2 years. After I had the younger one I decided I needed to lose weight so by the time she was 1 I lost 32kg. All of this while breastfeeding. My body is a mess. Strength training helped a little bit but once Covid is under control, I’m going to go get a mummy makeover, get the excess skin removed and everything tightened up. If you don’t want surgery… moisturise, strength train and hope for the best
