Hello!

What to wear during the healing process (C-Section)? I am just wondering if any mums out there have any tips on what to wear and have other ideas on what is best to do during the healing process (after c-section). I will have a 18 month old as well.

  • I just wore above the knee loose dresses.
They’re so easy to manoeuvre in and not a pain to try and get up or down when going to the loo!

  • I’d recommend your maternity clothes – loose dresses and tops – especially soft ones – are great when you’re recovering from abdominal surgery.

  • Nothing tight on your tummy. I actually wore some of my maternity clothes still, or hubby’s big flannelette shirt. I was told not to lift anything heavier than my newborn (that includes older children), don’t stretch to do jobs like hang clothes on the line or get cups out of a top cupboard, and don’t drive a car for 6 weeks (although I know women that have). Keep you suture site clean, and when it starts healing well, I found moisturing cream like Cocoa Butter helped stop the itchiness of the scar.

  • Cry recovery shorts, really expensive but so worth it.

  • rest, dont lift anything, and no right fitting clothes

  • My advice would be not to wear jeans or othertight fitting clothes.

  • try a long dress nothing that will sit on your scar line.

  • tracksuits are great – thats what I wore.

  • Loose clothings but the most important thing is keeping the wound clean to prevent infection. Just go back wearing those maternity clothes for now

  • how did you go? 🙂

  • Hope you found some comfortable clothes to wear.

  • What was the best recommendation?

  • What did you end up deciding?

  • Really baggy clothing and big undies

  • Yes – big supportive knickers are great.

  • Loose fitting clothes at first to prevent irritation.

  • Have you chosen what you want to wear

  • Choose undies that goes above or bellow the cut. Remember that you will be bleeding so my advise is to not have a too big undies otherwise you will have some accidents.
I didn’t want to wear pjs day and night, so I choose the tights that I used while pregnant and a large top, it was very comfy and made me feel good.
As soon I had less pain I started wearing recovery pants. I love it!
My baby is 11 weeks and my tummy is flat like before pregnant. I am so happy as I’ve gained 20 kilos during pregnancy and managed to get my body back to normal. 🙂

  • Undies 1x bigger than u’d normally wear and pyjamas 1 size larger, basically wear anything loose around youa waist.

  • Granny undies that are a couple of sizes too big and loose fitting dresses like baby doll ones
