No, I found it easy to manage !

I didn’t have much pain the day it was done, after the spinal block. The next day I was a bit sore but the hospital manages your pain really well, I found warm showers worked great with the pain. If you do have really bad pain I would speak to the nursing staff and get them to help manage the pain

It will very much depend on they type of anaesthetic you have. You will be in more pain earlier if you have a general anaesthetic and much less for longer if you have a spinal. Depending what the anaesthetists uses on an epidural your pain will be somewhere between the two. I had an unusual anaesthetic so mine was closer to a general as far as post op pain went but it was bearable. Painful to move but so much less painful when you have your baby with you. They are a great distraction. Bottom line – if you are in pain then you need to ask for pain killers because the midwives will not offer. Also don’t try to be too tough. If you need them then take them, don’t suffer in silence.
