Hello!

What are people reading? I’m needing some good suggestions for an upcoming period of time when I will be recovering from a medical procedure. I have broad interests and read everything and anything. Would love your suggestions.

  • I love psychological thrillers and crime stories

  • 1. I don’t normally read much (and HATE the way all adult novels use swearing and/or are filled with romance. So tedious and boring) and when I do I drift towards non-fiction books eg craft – knitting and love learning something new, that I can do instead of reading.
2.For reading I would recommend the fiction books my kids read! I love the “My Story” series that give insight into real periods of history. For something more ‘adult’ the “Spooks” is actually quite interesting with a whole series of good-evil fighting action without the swearing, tedious romance and trash that adults are meant to enjoy.
    3. For non-fiction try updating your knowledge of healthy eating. I was astonished how much things have changed since I last dipped into nutrition. Might even add years to your life!

  • Since you will be recovering read something positive and uplifting such as a spiritual or health book, a good novel etc..

  • Jodi Piccoult fantastic. Stephen King awesome. Jackie Collins raunchy. Autobiographies can be really interesting

  • I recently read The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo, and loved it.

  • All the wonderful advice, stories and recipes on MoMs :) I also love Jodi Picoult. Stephen King is another favourite. The 50 Shades of Grey series…..not worth it!

  • If you haven’t already, read Michael Rowbothams books. He’s an Aussie authof of psychological thrillers and they are brilliant! His latest is Close Your Eyes 9just released) and you can read it alone but good to read in order as he has a couple of characters that regularly appear in his books.

    The Suspect
    Lost
    The Night Ferry
    Shatter
    Bombproof
    Bleed for Me
    The Wreckage
    Say You’re Sorry
    Watching You
    Life Of death
    Close Your Eyes

  • Do you know Monica McInerney? She’s Australian-Irish. I’ve read all her books and they are amazing. I can’t recommend them enough!

  • Thanks BEC101 – will add to my reading list. :)

  • Me before you by Jojo Moyes! I loved it!
