Hello!

I have 35+ kgs to lose so I can have a breast reduction done. I am finding it hard to get started. I have a cold press juicer and a magic bullet and love most fruits and vegies (except capsicum which I am allergic to). I am trying to get ideas on the best juice diets to get kick started and also ones to avoid. If you are currently doing one or have done one that works well I would love to hear about it and where to find the information. Thanks. :)

  • I wouldn’t recommend a juice only diet for weight loss as it’s no good for long term use. Maybe replacing 1 or 2 meals a day with smoothies, which have more then just juice in them, might be better.

  • For weight loss, I would be leaning toward juices that are only made from veggies. The fruit is lovely and tastey, but unfortunately it’s full of sugars. Natural sugars, yes, but best to avoid when attempting weight loss

  • Love th answers, good luck with the weight loss too :)

  • Hey Michelle how did you go? Would love to know as it’s taken me nearly 8 months to lose 8 kgs and I have 15 to go. Can you say what did and didn’t work. There are thousands of diets/tips online but I like to know what works for individuals.

  • So much great help. You guys are all amazing. Thanks so much for all the support and advice. :)

  • I’ve actually done Sarah Wilson’s I Quit Sugar program, and found it quite easy and didn’t find myself craving anything naughty. I was amazed at the weight I loss and how good I felt. For $150 you get all your recipes and shopping list, plus online support. It is worth having a look at.

  • I love my fruit and veg too but have heard juices diets aren’t sustainable. Instead I would recommend gradually cutting down your meal sizes. Another tip is to drink a glass of water about 5-10 mins before your meal. I love to mix the combination of juices up from the normal ones to green ones to even nut milks.

  • Good luck with the weight loss. The biggest hurdle is always starting. Personally if you really want to kick start some changes I would go with a clean eating, pH neutralising diet. You can google plenty. Stay away from grains and dairy, just for a period, and your body will regain some metabolism and then you can gradually add food back into your diet. You got this gal.

  • Just be careful not to have too many fruit juices, and make sure your getting enough vitamins. a good immunity juice my naturopath recommended is
    1 carrot
    1 celery
    1 beetroot
    slice ginger
    2 apples

  • try maca powder? green smoothies. also you can add chia to speed up digestion? vegie juice better than fruit

  • also i’m now on Isajenix i have lost 6 kg 2 dress sizes and cm of my whole body and feel even better and look fantastic.

I started this before Christmas but didn’t feel like i had to eat every thing insite for Christmas lunch n Dinner

  • i used and also watched the movie by Jason Vale.

i Did the 14 day detox and and it went well i was surprised by how well it was.
Then did my own by having a smotthie for breakfast ( weetbix Youghurt Fresgh Fruit and Milk)
    Soup for lunch (Veggie Soup)
    and a Juice for tea.

Cleared up my headaches, Sinus and Asthma
also gave me back the taste of food.

  • Thanks for all the great feedback and advice. I love the idea of using the green tea as a base for my smoothies. And thanks to those who have included links. :)

  • I’ve got this 7 day raw detox – which isn’t a juice program but detox – raw foods only. I haven’t actually done it yet as I’m not motivated enough. But it looks really good.

And a tip if you want to purchase it (it’s $49), open the link, then go to exit the page. It then says you can purchase it for $1. The small print is you pay the remaining $48.95 after 2 weeks but you can cancel it if you want and not pay.

  • Im sure that some of them are great and you can lose weight while being on them. Just be careful that you dont get caught on a fad and then slip back into old habits. Ive known people who go to lose 10 kilos, do 5 or so and then put 10 back on because they go on an eating binge, meaning they are further behind. Look at something like Michelle Bridges, you get full eating plans, they really are amazing!

  • Juices may not be your best bet as they are full of sugar and then you will still be hungry a little while later. Try smoothies instead with low fat milk, yoghurt and some fruit and veg, so that you get protein as well. This will keep you going longer. Sometimes I make a smoothie with green tea as its base, to make it lighter and for the benefits of green tea, which include boosting your metabolism. I wish you lots of luck and hope you enjoy trying new combos of flavours. Just be careful of the portion size of your smoothie and the total calorie content as it can add up if you’re not careful.

  • Also; good luck with your reduction. :)

  • Only looking for 3,5 or 7 day diet to get started. More like a detox than a diet. I am well aware I it would be neither healthy or realistic to lose 35kgs drinking juice.

  • I have never tried this, I have smoothies to get a vitiman boost, but I don’t think you could really replace it from a healthy diet.

  • I think just eating real whole food is the best answer. Change your whole way of thinking don’t just do a crash diet course. That’s not healthy at all.
