i will be happy to receive books, toys that are practical sort that will help kids in their development /motor skills and definitely gift vouchers so i can decide what my 1 yo need.
plastic books, things that are safe to put in their mouth as they tend to do that. Balls and cuddly toys no edible or rough objects.Big Blocks are great idea.As learning hand and feet dexterity. So anything that they can touch and feel. My kids used to love pan lids and tins, that were kitchen items but toys would sometimes be left for them.
around 1 my child wasnt really fusse don toys, was walking around and loved getting into things such as chargers and other things they shouldnt be touching, around that age mine never had much interest in toys.
Honestly anything that plays music seemed to captivate my two. Depending on your budget a toy keyboard or a music activity table. Otherwise books are always a winner, particularly the “That’s not my …” series.
