Hello!

I’m looking for ideas for lunch, something other than salads or sandwiches. Interested in healthy and not so healthy options.

  • Love making wraps with salad and chicken and mayo!

  • Re heated last nights left overs most of the time

  • Lasagne, pasta bake – chicken or tuna, pre made soups, cheese toasties :)

  • Soup, leftovers , soup. I love winter.

  • Grilled cheese toasties instead of sandwiches. Soup.

  • Soups are great as they can be made & frozen. I do also like to have an egg on toast occasionally.

  • Soups are great – so much variety and quick and easy; porridge is warming and filling; a steak sandwich is always good; pies and sausage rolls are a simple meal that can be jazzed up with salad or some vegetables and my all-time favourite is the humble jacked spud – can be topped with just about anything you fancy for a wholesome lunch!

  • an omelet and you can fill with cheese, tomato, onion, capsicum, peppers or any other left overs in the fridge!

  • Chicken nuggets, wedges, yogurt

  • I make pinwheel sandwiches with flatbread, all your favourits rolled up and cut in half, delicious.

  • When I was working I would always take some form of leftovers from the night before to heat up for lunch. I would also opt for toasted sandwiches as they are easy to prepare at home then toast in a jaffle maker at work. Thermos of noodles or soup with some nice crusty bread could be a way to change it up. Worst case just stock up on frozen dinners and have some for work lunches.

  • yes well i have been eating eggs and bacon a lot lately lol

  • A lunch box full of a variety of finger foods is always different and tasty; much like a little antipasto platter.

  • Leftovers are always good for the next day; in particular pasta.

  • I like making wraps.
We often have leftovers from the night before for lunch.

  • Lots of options, often cool a little extra at dinner and have leftovers for lunch. All in one quiche is yummy or zucchini slice, toasted sandwiches or open grilled doorstops. You could also make homemade pizza or pita bread pizzas with varied toppings. Homemade pour is always great in winter.

  • Poached eggs on toast! I also love avocado mashed with chilli sauce, spread on grainy toast, topped with cheese and placed under the grill – YUM!

  • I love soup and actually have it for lunch all year round. There are so many different varieties you can make or buy (personally I don’t like tinned soup but some other packaged ones are handy and taste nice)

  • I’m looking forward to making a big pot of beef & veg soup that is thick enough to eat it with a fork. Great for lunch & tea!

  • When it starts cooling down we often have ham and cheese toasted sandwiches or the favourite spaghetti jaffle. We sometimes will have omellets packed with veg and cheese or quiche, ravioli. I often cook in advance as well and freeze it as I work long hours. Best i’ve found that freeze and re heat well is potato bake, sausage hot pot (fave for the kids), any form of curry with rice and veg, lasagna, stir fry’s with a generous amout of sauce for reheating purpose.
