What are your top beauty hacks or holy grail products? - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

What are your beauty hacks or holy grail products for a busy, time-poor mum? I’m pretty minimal with makeup, love skincare and haircare, and still want to look put together and look after my hair/skin/nails with what little time I have. Any tips or recommendations appreciated, TIA!!

  • A hot brush has been amazing for me, and there are lots of inexpensive brands that make decent units. I swear by layering skin care. Morning and night I have serums, creams, and an SPF for the daytime. I *love* Go-To skincare. I have a fabulous routine and my skin has never looked better. For hair I love an antifrizz oil. Olaplex and Kerastase work best for me, they don’t leave my hair oily like many others I’ve tried.

  • Along with my comment below about wonderful and cheap Vitamin E cream; the other tip from me is to drink plenty of water! It is so important to stay hydrated and it is essential for the whole body and particularly the organs and skin to be well hydrated. I ensure I get my daily fill of water.

  • I’m a big believer in making sure everything like moisturiser and foundation include SPF. There is no doubt that’ll make a big difference in the long run. I’m also a fan of tinted moisturiser. Once you’ve found the right shade, this is great for minimal makeup but looking put together. Love it.

  • I know where you’re coming from. For me, I am loving my Garnier BB Cream. It doubles as a moisturiser and makeup in one. It’s not heavy like makeup though and gives a nice glow to my skin. For my nails, I can suggest gel nail polish. It lasts weeks and looks great. My Miss 16 bought a kit from Priceline and it’s been priceless! We both use it.

  • I like once a month to steam my face over a bowl of boiling water. Then put on a mud mask and after removing it using St Ives Apricot scrub. Then I splash with cold water and moisturise and my skin feels and looks so much better. Always was makeup of as soon as you are home for the day.

  • I have always taken great care of my skin and its paid off.
I never go to bed without making sure to double cleanse and remove all makeup. I use a serum, night cream and eye cream.
During the day I always use a sunscreen on my face.
You can always get your eye brows done and eye lashes dyed which would save time daily.

  • I have always bought cheap and cheerful priced Vitamin E cream. I apply it to all of my body and it keeps my skin moist and not dry and it feels good on my skin too. I receive so many comments about my skin and people are surprised by my age!

  • My best time saving tip is no make up at all, lol ! I have a dry and sensitive skin and make my face cream my self from raw shea butter, coconut oil and raw honey. After I have applied this to my face I rub what is left in the end of my hair (which is also rather dry). I do once a week a hair mask and clip and file my nails on the go.
