If your baby’s back gets hot and sweaty, tucking a small towel or other cotton fabric in between her/his back and the seat may reduce the problem. Another suggestion I have is cover at least the harness of you gear when not in use. It gets very hot in the warm weather if the vehicle outdoors. The metal parts can get hot enough to damage your baby’s skin. In fact I would cover the whole seat, even in Winter if the seat isn’t used fairly frequently. It keeps dust etc. out of the cover and protects the entire seat from the excess of the sun and reduces the risk of it perishing. Mothers Choice and Safe-n-Sound (made by Britax) are our favourites. Covers are easily washable.
We are using the britax safe n sound platinum sict. It set us back $700.
But worth it, one of the safest car seat out on the market atm. It has the highest height markers that allow the child to remain rear facing for a longer period. It’s an a4 model seat that allows rear facing to approx 2-3 years old sometimes longer. And then converts to a forward facing car seat to approx 4 years old.
It has side impact cushioning not only around babies head but body as well.
Has the easy adjust headrest where you can adjust while child Is in car seat and the car seat installed you just lift the tab and pull up or push headrest down which also adjusts the straps so no rethreading the straps.
Only negative is the fabric isn’t as breathable as I would have liked so she gets sweaty on hot days but they are releasing the “pro” in the platinum that has the better fabric and other features that retails at $749
