Hello!

What do other people do with wedding and baby cards? I have a lot from our engagement, wedding, and first baby. I would love to keep some of them but they take up unnecessary space… any ideas for creative ways to store cards?

  • I keep cards, but only when they have a special message. When it only has a name of the sender, I most of the time discard it.

  • I keep all my cards, even Christmas ones, but I tend to recycle them the following year. I just store them in shoe boxes in a cupboard, shoeboxes don’t take up a lot of room

  • Take photos of each front and inside and recycle

  • I don’t have any ideas for creative ways to store cards, sorry. I periodically go through my cards and if they are a generic card with a generic message from someone outside of my family, I’m likely to recycle the card. If it’s from a family member or someone special, I’ll likely keep it. At the moment I have a big box of them, it’ll get to the stage where I’ll have to do something with them as well. Maybe scan them?

  • Scan the front and back and file them for each occasion on the computer. Not as good as having the real thing , but definitely takes up less space!

  • thanks for the question as I have kept them. I don’t know what to do with the but i like MOM86004 idea.

  • I bought some lovely storage boxes from the reject shop and have made manila folder dividers so that the cards are still all kept together according to their event. I also made photo albums for my children with some of the really special cards in them.

  • well i have two ideas
    1. scrap book them

    2. make a memory photo frame- put the card in and any little memories, knick knacks and hang it on the wall.

  • I am not overly sentimental and hate clutter so I don’t usually keep them but maybe one of those filing carry boxes

  • I keep the ones for special birthdays. I read somewhere, turn them into a book. Buy a big ring and hole punch a corner and them put all on a the binder ring.

  • I have that many cards from different occasions I don’t know what to do with them either, and don’t want to throw them all away. I’ve kept all the most special but still need to put them into a scrapbook-in order too!

  • I like to keep all of my cards we receive and put them in a box, they don’t take up much room!

  • You could take photos of them that way it is only taking disk space not cupboard space.

  • the special ones I keep in a box all the others either get thrown away or given to daughter to play with and use in crafts.

  • I only put all of them in the boxes.

  • The messages inside the cards can be cut out and placed in scrapbooks too and it can be kept as a lovely keepsake and reflection book.

  • some are in show boxes, the rest I collect and put in scrap books. im a hoarder

  • I keel them all! It was suggested to me to scan them

  • A few ideas for you:
-Using them for scrapbooking is a lovely idea.
-Cutting them into lovely shapes and pasting them into a keepsake book.
    -Using them to make bookmarks.
-Framing some of the special ones and hanging in rooms.
    :)

  • That doesn’t sound bad! I do need to throw some away:) there’s some special ones from grandparents, family overseas etc that I would like to keep. Just not sitting in a box forever!
