I have 4 girls the youngest being 15 yrs. I am now raising my 14 month grandson and I have no idea how to toilet train a boy, any advice would be wonderful.

  • When he’s interested. My son was fully trained at 20 months, just a few accidents

  • Our 3 year old never like the potty so we used the toilet with a special seat on it. We started training and still had a few accidents. Suddenly he refused to go on the toilet at all, so it was back to full time nappies. We don’t know if he just wasn’t ready or whether something happened at daycare. After a couple of weeks he began to show interest so we started again. We still have an occasional accident and we still have to remind him to go sometimes. Occasionally we have to tell him that we are going. He decides he has to go first. Still have sleep nappies, mainly just at night unless it is going to be for a fair while in the car as he frequently goes to sleep even if we only go a short distance.

  • I have 3 sons and the first 2 where quite early toilet trained but my third is 2 1/2 and has no interest I put him on the potty some nights before his bath and he goes I think just let him go when he is ready.

  • I TT my oldest when he turned 3. He didn’t show any signs he was ready but I knew I had to do it. I felt that he was ready. I followed the “3 Day Potty Training Guide” & it worked. We haven’t done night time yet.

  • I was always told, as boys are more active and less mature, there is no point starting before 3 otherwise you will have daily accidents. With a few exceptions this has generally been spot on for my kids and all of my friends’ boys!
