  • we bought a delonghi coffee machine from aldi. we only paid $99 and it makes a really good coffee plus its a nice compact machine

  • I prefer a filter coffee machine. They make lovely fresh coffee, it’s cheaper and more environment friendly then coffee pods machines. I’ve a Breville 12 cup coffee machine and they’re about $70

  • All very interesting answers, good to know!

  • Nespresso……what else

  • We have the sunbeam – not too big, easy to use and makes a great coffee + it doesn’t cost the earth like some of the other ones out there.

  • please, please, please by one that does not use pods – they do not break down and are destroying our Earth

  • We have A Modo Mio. It is great and it takes Lavazza coffee pods, which was the real winner for us. Being a pod machine, it so easy to use and looks funky! Cost us under $200 a couple of years ago, so well priced.
    I highly recommend it!

  • I highly recommend the aldi machine, 16 stengths of coffee available plus chai and hot chocolates, and each pod is about 30c. It has been a great investment in my household

  • I bought the aldi one I hated it I then got one from Woolworth and love it personal choice

  • Good question; seems like Aldi is on a winner. I have often looked at it and wanted to know about it!

  • Have the Aldi machine and have had since it came out, I absolutely love it, it always makes a great coffee and it helps having such a huge range of coffee to choose from. Prior to this I had a Sunbeam cafe series it ended up being tossed in a bin once I bought this, pride doesn’t always buy you quality.

  • yeah well it depends on what coffee you like! i have a caffitaly from woolworths. it takes pods from the woolworths select range and also gloria jeans-yum! so about $6 a box but you can get them for really great deals, like 2 boxes for $10. i buy these pods from big w and woolies. i also have a lavazza modo mia and it only takes it’s brand of pods which are about $16 a box from iga. very expensive to use this brand.

so yeah check out the machines that you like and also the price of the pods. nesspresso seem to be good and you know what? i always see them giving away samples or packs so that would be a bonus to having their machine and keep an eye out for their facebook page. they had an offer a few months ago, that if you registered your machine, you would get a free box of pods. they have that offer on the modo mia as well

  • We have a nespresso machine wgich my husband loves, but he also enjoys the Aldi Expressi at my mums. For the cost, I’d go the Aldi one. He says it tastes exactly the same. There also seems to be a lot more pods available for hand Expressi.

  • Aldi & we heat our milk in a milk pan on stove as the milk frothers don’t heat very well & are a pain to clean. Plus capsules are cheap with God coffee

  • Yes I agree the expressi from Aldi was featured on a current affair and was put up against the nespresso machine, the Aldi expressi came up tops for better tasting coffee and value for money .

  • Dont just look at the cost of the actual machine but check out the cost of coffee pods if you are going for a pod machine and might be a good idea to see if the pods can be recycled also.

  • Hi, We have the Nespresso and for us it out does all the others on the market, the pods are the best tasting coffee and we have tried them all, good luck with your future coffee machine purchase. You can try out some machines at Good Guys etc before you buy. :)

  • I originally had a Breville that did capaccinos and latte’s at the touch of the button, but it never got the milk hot enough, so drinks were never hot enough.
I now have a Nespresso pod machine. I love it, have pods delivered! Only down side… I help the milk intake for our family ;) which is about 14 lites a week (3 kids under 4 and a big coffee drinker!)

  • I have a Nespresso U it just which I love! However there are many of these machines around, it just depends on your budget. I have found though that with all these machines with the automatic milk warmer, that you really need to scrub the bottom. In 1 place it burns the milk and builds up and then can actually stuff the milk warmer…I have to buy a new one of these.

  • If you are after a pod machine, the Expressi from Aldi is great value, easy to use and has lots of flavoured pods to choose from.
