Hello!

What is the best tablet for kids?… I would love to know what other mums have chosen between: Leapfrog Leap Pad; Vetech Innotab; or a straight out iPad/tablet for kids use??? How do you police how much time they spend on it? I have a 3yo boy. Thanks for your thoughts…

  • With my youngest we went for an ipad with guided access and you can set a time limit for a category of apps (for example, Games or Social Networking) and for individual apps.

  • There are really interesting comments on this!

  • Great! There really interesting comments on this!

  • For a 3 year old I would go with a leap pad. You want something that gives the most education, as for knowing screen time set a schedule, can only use it in the car or waiting for appointments etc at 3years old you really want to limit screen time,

  • We use my IPad for our 3 year old, she has a padded carry case and is only allowed when we are in the car for a long time or she has been busy all day and needs a rest but it is tired for sleep.

  • I love the leapfrog brand.

  • iPad for the whole family 🙂

  • Leap frogs are pretty good, they have a lot of educational toys

  • What did you end up Choosing?

  • What did you decide on? Mine use an ipad mini.

  • Would love to hear which one you chose, I think there are some new ones just come on the market now too.

  • I hope you have found one that you liked

  • Hope you were able to choose the right one with all the informative tips

  • I always liked the iPads

  • We went for the iPad!

  • If you can afford it, I’d go the ipad.

  • Target have the pen do pad out for $90 its a good buy.

  • Androids are very cheap on Deals Direct, you can get them for under $100 at the moment. I’ve been considering one for my son.

  • I would suggest a small android tablet without a sim card. There are a wider variety of apps available for android than ipads for kids, and you can download apps with a password protected wi fi connection, so the kids cannot accidentally access things they shouldn’t.

  • I’d go for ipad mini. Kids can learn a lot on it.
