Arabesque in Elsternwick has amazing middle eastern food – all home made from scratch (even the Turkish delight). Dishes include chicken skewers with almond rice, beef kofta, falafel with tahini, lamb skewers & they also do banquets if you have a group. Service is also excellent. Ask for the Turkish delight ice cream (it’s a special that they sometimes have on the menu) but they can make it for you if you ask. Best dessert I’ve ever had! Very flexible with special requests too. Marmaris 2 in Caulfield South is a healthy take away option (dishes include chicken or lamb skewers in a wrap with hummous, tabouleh & salad). Lord Cardigan in South Melbourne & Chez Olivier in Prahran are both pricey but excellent if you’re looking for something special.
