Hello!

I have a Tefal Cook4Me and really love it but I accidentally poured water in it when the pot wasn’t in it. So mad at myself.
I now need another pressure cooker but wasn’t wanting to spend another $330.
Does anyone have a more affordable option that they would recommend?

  • Breville fast slo pro. Amazing. I used to have one that went on the stove and it sounded like a plane taking off. This one is so quiet, quick and easy to use. It is combined with slow cooker and rice cooker.

  • My elderly relatives had pressure cookers that you used on the stove. From time to time the rubber seal on the lid had to be replaced. It had little triangle shaped baskets in it that you could put separate vegetables and a metal removable “plate” with holes in it that sat in the bottom. You didn’t need to put much water it in. If the valve in the top of the lid showed indications of too much steam in it you simply turned down the heat of your stove. The of one my Mum had (I think it mat have been a “hand me down” started to come apart so my Dad wrapped uncoated wire around it until he was able to buy Mum a new one. On one occasion she didn’t turn her pressure cooker down for a few minutes after she should have, it blew the gasket in the top of the lid. Apparently it had Pea & Ham Soup in it and it went everywhere. It was not a fault in its manufacture at all. It was fixed and used for years after that. I don’t know anything about electrical ones. I wonder if sometimes people don’t adjust the temperature at all.

  • I have a Indian good old pressure cooker but these new ones look all fancy

  • I got mine for 50 dollars at the reject shop its great …i had returned 3 to harris scarfe that cost 4 times as much .

  • I don’t have one so I can’t recommend one, but will be following this post with interest ….

  • I’ve never had a pressure cooker ..

  • Tupperware have a Microwave pressure cooker – it is seriously amazing!

  • Oh dear…cant help u as i dont have one

  • The Phillips – All In One cooker is amazing – we use it weekly, perfect size for a family of 4 or bigger. Easy to follow instructions and some yummy recipes in the included booklet. Easy to clean and set up. HIghly recommend it.

  • We had a general Aldi brand one which I wouldn’t recommend getting one from ALDI have also at some point owned a sunbeam which was a lot better

  • I have the Philips All-in-One Cooker and it’s amazing. I can really recommend it. I use it at least once a week.

  • I’ve always found the idea of pressure cookers a bit scary – too many stories of them blowing up. Yes, I know they might all be old stories. Does a slow cooker do the same thing? There are plenty of afforable versions.

  • I have a Philips multi cooker which I was very lucky enough to win on this site. It is my favourite thing in the kitchen. I don’t think I could live without a pressure cooker now that I have had one.

  • We have a sunbeam multi cooker (slow and pressure cooker). I know we didn’t pay full price so I’m not actually sure what they cost. It’s been ok. I’m still figuring out how to use it, I’m not sure why it doesn’t automatically de-pressurise so I often manually flip the top thing to let out pressure. I like that it does both slow and pressure. And the writing on lids etc have faded fairly quickly. But it does the job.

  • None lol ;) I’m happy without.

  • I use a sunbeam slow cooker. I’ve never had any problems with it at all. It’s great to set and forget

  • I also have the Tefal. Maybe you can shop around and get it cheaper – or could it be under warranty?
