Hello!

My baby is 8 mths old and breastfed with no bottle. She is on 3 meals and has 110gms each meal. Gaining 80-100gms a week healthy and happy. She feeds a few times overnight as we co-sleep but in the day has dropped feeds to about every 4 to 5 hours and they are pretty quick. I am happy to wean at 1 year when I go to work. Am trying to intro the cup but worried this is not ok. ..any thoughts? What should I introduce to my daughters feeding routine?

  • all the best to u !

  • How did she go taking the cup in the end?

  • i hope it went well

  • Hope all went well if you tried the sippy cup

  • Good to move to a sippy cup

  • Sippy cup you might be able to use?

  • What did you end up doing?

  • How did you go with trying the cup?

  • I think it sounds fine to introduce an appropriate sippy cup at this age.

  • Did you find other things that you like?

  • What your doing is good

  • Tommy teppi or whatever the bran is has a cup made for this reason. They are great and are sold at woollies or Coles

  • I’d start her on a soft spouted sippy cup and some small snacks in between meals.

  • Sippy caps rule! :) My girl loves them, and was the only thing she would drink her milk out of when I weaned her off the breast.

  • Definitely some snacky type foods and also a sippy cup (try the soft spout one)!

  • The sippy cup would be ideal for an 8 month old

  • Sippy cup is a great plan means that she can have expressed breast milk if you need to leave her anytime soon. I would try and introduce snacks for Morning and Afternoon tea. The fact you know how many grams she eats at each meal is interesting, she should be eating till she is full at this age, google Baby LeD Weaning for some great info.

  • I don’t see a problem with them having a sippy cup and being breast fed. I have a few friends that successfully did this.

  • Your maternal and child health care nurse should be able to give you a good guide.

  • def sippy cup with water it teaches them to be independant
