Hello!

I am planning to take my kids to aussie world. We will be staying on the sunshine coast. Are there places around that area that you recommend to go see? I was told to go see the underwater world that is there as well. Anybody have ideas or local knowledge? Any places near the sunshine coast that are also worth a look? What should I take my kids to see on the sunshine coast?

  • Underwater world is fantastic. Something for all ages.

  • The big pineapple but noosa is really nice as well.

  • There are so many great beaches. We love kings beach with its salt water pool, water bubbler play area and park all in one location and they are all free. Great way to spend a few hours. After all that there are cafes, ice cream and the beach just steps away.

  • Mooloolaba beach, underwater world, the ginger factory, hinterland, noosa national park, Caloundra has great kids beaches, Eumundi market for sure, I lived there for 17 years…

  • Definitely Underwater World/Sealife – check on their website for discount passes! Have fun!

  • I agree that Australia Zoo is a must. I had my second visit a couple of months ago and wondered if I would enjoy it again, but it is a really lovely place to visit. Pay the little bit extra to visit the animal hospital too. Check out my blog post about things to do on the Sunshine Coast for more information, http://www.familyfriendlyaccommodation.com.au/blog/2014/06/27/theres-plenty-of-family-fun-on-the-sunshine-coast/

  • Australia Zoo looks good; this is now on my ‘must do’ list.

  • You and your children will love a ferry ride on the Noosa River. You can pick up the ferry at Noosa or Tewantin, and spots in between. The ferry travels between the 2 towns, and is a lovely journey for enjoying the contrast between touristy Noosa and laid back Noosaville and Tewantin, whilst taking in the beautiful river.

  • wow these are great suggestions! thankyou so much for posting them. i will check them out

  • Australia Zoo is a great day’s outing. My kids and my husband and I absolutely loved it. Their are free buses from some areas to get there, so you might want to check out if there is one near where you are staying.

  • Good question and good answers; love some of these ideas.

  • Google is a great place to start but here are a few suggestions, Glasshouse Mountains, Discover the wonderful Sunshine Coasts Hinterland and Great walk, check out the wonderful coloured sands, visit Bli Bli Medievel Castle, Ettamogah Pub, Aussie World and Australia Zoo are but just a few. Happy Holidays and Best Wishes.

  • If the kids like animals you could take them to Australia Zoo.
