Hello!

Heading into school holidays and I noticed this morning that my sons school cooler bag is looking & smelling pretty funky. What’s the best way to clean & store school cooler bags them over the holidays?

  • I used to turn them inside out and put them through the washing machine. Then peg them on the clothesline to dry

  • I wipe them out daily and once a week give a good wash inside with hot soapy water and hang on the line. As long as the lining isn’t damaged (eg rips or holes) they wash well inside.

  • My boys use a small esky so it has been easier to do the cleaning.

  • With the inner foil ones ( assuming that is it ), I used to rinse it out then turn it upside down on the dishrack . If it smells probably use a bit of detergent .

  • Leave the zip open and wipe out with vinegar

  • I put mine through the washing machine. Line dry and store in a cupboard during holidays

  • Also; I hang them on a hook.

  • Wipe them; dry them and air them.

  • I had to resort to soaking 2 of them in a solution of chlorine (they belonged to my 2 teenagers)! I then put them through the washing machine’s hot wash cycle. They came up lovely. I wouldn’t normally do this but thought I had little to lose. Everyday I wipe them out with hot water and then hang them up inside overnight to make sure they are completely dry. On the weekends they get stored in a plastic tub once completely dry.

  • I wipe out with a Pine-o-clean kitchen wipe and if they need a good clean, I wash in hot dish washing water and hang on the clothes line to dry. I haven’t come up with a perfect storage place for these, to me they are big and bulky so would love to hear others ideas to.

  • I wipe them out with a damp cloth daily and give them a good clean when they need it and then hang on the line.
