Hello!

Would love to visit some more budget friendly countries in the upcoming years. I’ve already booked a trip to Thailand which I’m extremely excited for. Most recently I visited the UK which I would say is even more expensive than the US which honestly shocked me (I was there 5 weeks).

  • It is always a good idea to also show some caution with cheap deals to go to cheap countries. It is so essential to be prepared for different accommodation options and cultures and ways of living. It can be quite the experience as long as eyes are wide open prior to travel. We have enjoyed some incredible and not so incredible experiences but all have been an adventure.

  • I was about to say Thailand was one of the cheapest places ive been but it’s also probably the place I’ll never visit again to be honest. I found that the constant people trying to come up and scam you or take you to these ‘places’ to get you to spend just ruined the holiday

  • Domestic or international travel can indeed be quite expensive regardless of the destination or the country. The key to affordable travel is to do a whole lot of research before any travel and that includes every aspect from flights and accommodation, transport and activities, food and souvenirs and every other expense related to travel.

  • Sadly I have never been overseas! It was a goal of mine but funnily enough I’m now finding there is so much of Australia that I want to see that I don’t mind that I haven’t been. To answer your question though, my father in law loves the Philippines! He says the beaches are beautiful and he lives like a king for very little money. I hear Bali is a winner also

  • I found Vietnam to be pretty good value. It was probably 12 years ago when I went though but I still dream about the amazing fresh food and fresh beer! Such an amazing place to visit and hopefully still just as affordable as it was a while back. Enjoy your trip to Thailand

  • Most of my European travel was well over twenty years ago, which makes it really hard to say with authority. Back then Spain was pretty cheap and so were countries that were just emerging from communist rule. But all my recent travel has been in the US, and that’s not cheap by any means.

  • I love Singapore. The flights can be pricey unless you get a good sale. The hotel we stayed at was wonderful, included breakfast, and was cheap. The food everywhere is incredible, also very cheap, and the MRT is efficient and your charge card goes a long way. It’s a destination we’ll revisit in future
