Where can I get the cheapest car insurance?

I know it depends on your history, age, type of car, usage, where you store it etc… but generally speaking, does anyone have any recommendations on where to get the cheapest car insurance? I have been shopping around trying to get the best deals for my family’s cars but there are just so many providers and options out there. I’m getting confused. Would love some recommendations to streamline my hunt! Thanks

After much shopping around on more than one occasion, I found NRMA to be the best and the cheapest

Sgic is great. And beat anyone else by 10% or I think aami does something how u can pick and choose.. Try online quotes to get a rough idea

Get the cheapest quote you can and then take it to NRMA and they will beat it – it only works for the first year though as they don’t do this for renewals

Budget Direct have been great – older cars that others will only insure third party, they will insure full comp and at a cheaper price than third party with others! Fantastically easy to make a claim too.

Online comparison sites are good, but you may get better rates of you ring, particularly if you have your health and home insurance with a provider which also does car insurance.

Try one of the online comparison websites – NRMA has done well by our family by offering a reduced rate for multiple policies…
Beware of any deals that look too good to be true though… They probably are!!

I said on a previous comment Real insurance ,today my son got his p plates,I called to tell them they told my they wont cover anybody under 18.what a Joke how can kids be covered

real insurance was really cheap for our 2 cars. i found them by looking online and they compared many dealers

shop around play them against each other as I have done that at times. I also try to get pay by the month insurance on the car as its bad enough rego once a year without another big expense for insurance.

Depends on where you live. For me GIO is double the price but that is because of my location. When comparing remember to compare other gactors like windscreen hire car etc
