Our 8 yr old was born a micro premmie and had a lung collapse at 30 days . He tends to get a bad cough/ cold every time winter hits and usually needs steroids. We pulled him out a few weeks before the end of last term. We’ve been doing work from the year appropriate educational work books and the work the school has sent. They are due to go back next week, but we still have our reservations about him being safe and not getting the virus. Something is telling me not to send him back till next term, but I’m not sure if keeping him home will have a negative effect. Also I’m not sure if what I’m feeling is mother’s intuition or just straight out fear? Hubby is usually the voice of reason, but even he has reservations about sending him back. I’m tempted the ring the education department for advice, but it won’t be unbiased. I feel like we are gambling with his health and that doesn’t feel good. A lot of parents just send their kids to school sick, and don’t care. It kinda feels like can we trust the other parents to do the right thing and keep their kids home if sick.. Thought I’d come here to ask for advice and see what other parents are doing.
Forum With schools now back, who is still keeping their kids home?
