Any suggestions of a cost effective way of labelling all school items?

Hello!

Printed labels seem so expensive, apart from writing with marker pen, any cheaper solutions to labelling all items for back to school?

Yes, I also have the Dymo LetraTag label maker.

I have used for many years the good old Dymo LetraTag label maker cost about $25 KMART and the plastic tape is about $6 Great for book labels and lunch boxes etc.

I usually print my own, cut them on and stick them on with contact. This way is much cheaper and you can print whatever font, size and colour you want to.

Small bits of paper and sticky tape wrapped around on all stationery items. Cheap and easy.
