Hello!

I’m one of those people who love their food but only have to look at something and I put weight on. I cannot resist food! You don’t have to twist my arm much. Does anyone have a diet plan that has worked really well for them? Any suggestions for resisting food too would be appreciated. Thankyou

  • Oh mumma, I can fully relate. I try and keep busy, if my mind is focussed on something else, it’s less focussed on food

  • I used to follow the Scarsdale medical diet and that worked, but that was decades ago when my metabolism was better. Nowadays I struggle to lose weight.

  • I have found its about committing. Clean and lean is great but a bit extreme but a modified version would work basically more veg no processed foods no added sugars

  • I try and keep busy to take my mind off food. I find if I’m busy I’m less likely to focus on eating. As for a diet, not really. I’m overweight, not obese, I try to eat healthy on a daily basis. Not cutting anything out, but avoiding processed food and sugars etc
    Good luck

  • The soup diet has worked wonders for me!

  • I could have written this haha

I am yet to follow my own advice! But here goes… There is no “diet” there is no quick fix that works. You have to be mentally ready to commit. Commit to being healthy.

The key is going back to basics & sugar is your enemy!!

Nothing with added preservatives etc. so cook everything from scratch, remove the temptation and rid your pantry/fridge and freezer of crap.

Meal plan before going to the supermarket, cook everything from scratch… Make double and freeze half. That way when you have nights you can’t be bothered all you have to do is defrost!

Next step is portion size and making sure your diet is balanced. Palm size of protein at dinner time with good serving of veg/salad. Everything in moderation, allow yourself a treat every third or fourth night but don’t overindulge.

It’s not easy to make the lifestyle change but it sure as hell will be worth it!!!

  • I really liked the CSIRO diet – helped me understand what and how much I should be eating.

  • I’ve found not buying crap food when I do my groceries helps. If it’s not in my cupboard, I can’t eat it. My best tip…..don’t use a diet! Just adjust your duet to include mainly fresh and healthy food. You’re more likely to stick to a lifestyle change then a diet

  • Yes for sure healthy food and exercise and lifestyle is the best way to go!

  • Very informative thankyou

  • I have never had a diet work for me long term. I have always struggled with my weight and after doing weight watchers I realised that you need to follow a healthy lifestyle. Eat healthily and exercise. There is no easy fix.

  • I surround myself with healthy food. Empty the fridge and cupboards of unhealthy junk food. Not only do I feel better when I have a binge, I also binge less. Let’s face it, who ever craves lettuce leaves or celery sticks?

  • I found if I eat a substantial breakfast such as a bowl of muesli or porridge my eating through the day is not out of hand, and at the end of the day I no longer am a bottomless pit. Good luck.

  • What works is seeing it as healthy living rather than a diet. Eating healthy is a lifelong choice and eating lots of fruit and veggies fills you up and minimises the need to fill up on high sugar items. Anything in moderation becomes a habit that maintains health, weight and feeling good.

  • Totally agree with Blondie. No diet works for ever. it is all about changing long term eating habits for the better!
