  • I was a single parent for around four years after leaving am almost decade long marriage. Though it was a lot of work it was far better floor my mental health and wellbeing to be out of a toxic environment. It was nice to have the time to work out who I was again as I think the worst thing was the loss of my self-identity.

Of course, during that time I met Jeremy, my amazing wonderful husband. Too make it work we both needed quite a bit of time with our own space to work through ask the past issues making sure we didn’t carry them into our future together. (Well, at least as much as you can when you both have children with other biological parents anyway.)

Enjoy your time out singlehood, however long you choose for it to last. It is a true blessing to have a second chance at just being yourself and taking care of yourself without being focused on another adult too.

  • Yep! I’m a single mum of 2 additional needs kids. Been single almost 4 years and it has been so much less stressful. My girls are 6.5yrs and 5yrs.

I can’t even begin to imagine being in a relationship anytime soon

  • I’m married but often times I think it would be easier as a single parent. Good on you for doing so well.
