If so did you find it helpful, or were the other mums all about comparing

  • I didn’t attend an official mums group but caught regularly up with some mums of church just to hang out and share.

  • I have been along to mums groups. It can be a good as long as you find the right one for you and bub.

  • I couldn’t go to one. There wasn’t one in my area. A lot of mums are all about comparing. Look how advanced little Billy is etc Can make it difficult

  • I didn’t, I wanted to and asked countless times when the next one was starting in my area. Only to find out months later that one started 4 weeks before my first was born. I tried to go along and join in but unfortunately I was not exactly made to fit in, those mums for some reason had already formed a click and were not very welcoming.

I did fine without it… Google and some friends who had a baby some year before me. I feel like I missed out a little, my SIL still catches up with and has play dates with mums from her group and her first born is now 5!

I would say give it a go, no harm done if you think it’s not for you!

  • I didn’t but thats not really my thing – I had my own friends I never had time to catch up with let alone making new friends, lol. A few other friends did though and although there are the odd few ‘braggers’, most of them are still good friends today even though all their kids are mid primary school age.

  • One of my best friends is in a group and I think she gets a lot out of it. It is for baby wearing and I think it really supports her

  • I didn’t. But I had an online mum’s group and anything I wanted to know or ask, they helped me with. My son interacts with other children well and I’ve only heard bad experiences with mum’s groups. That’s only my opinion.

  • I did when i had my first child, and it was the worst idea of my life. I am a simple mum who doesn\’t think my children need to wear designer labels nor do i think spending $100\’s of dollars on a nappy bag is sensible. I was almost the feral among the snobs. My children were not dressed in the right brand and my pram was a simple valco. The mums were always trying to out do each other when it came to their child and whose was better advanced then the other. I hated it but i understand that this may not be everyone experience.
