  • I’ll do a fair bit of DIY but if it’s electricial I will definitely call a professional electrician.

  • I’ve tried but haven’t been overly successful. I’m scared of power tools, which creates issues. I do what I can. Thankfully, my son is now old enough to do a lot for me. That leaves not a lot for a paid professional thank goodness

  • I (or my husband) could do a fair bit, but we hire someone because it’s usually faster. We’re time poor.

  • I try to DIY if it’s small and safe. Anything with electrics or plumbing or dangerous leave to the experts. I know bunnings run workshops on different things on the weekends where you can learn some DIY, otherwise your local hardware store will likely always offer friendly advice if you ask.

  • I would always hire a professional to do it. We purchased our house off of an elderly lady who has been the only owner. She had tried to do her own DIY jobs and they look terrible. We will have to pay more to have her botched jobs fixed up.

  • I do what I can myself, but I certainly leave electrical projects to the professionals.

  • Just the small things. My husband is not overly handy and I haven’t too much time.

  • Depends what the job is. I can paint. I also resealable bits and bobs with silicone. I can replace a washer etc little jobs I can do

  • I love DIY projects, currently I bought some Christmas sacks from Big W for $8 and am going to put my kids names on them. Saving me a small fortune as they can be $30+ online.

  • My husband does all the DIY around the house although it is something I have always wanted learn to do myself.

  • Hi, I will be doing my own DIY shortly. I am looking at a lot of different essential oils and I am going to start making my own beauty and cleaning products.

  • We do a lot of DIY and I wonder whether any mums have participated in any DIY courses as I would like to up skill and would love suggestions of places for courses. :)

  • My husband and I always try to do everything our selves. It saves so much money which we can now spend on our children and family weekends away.

  • Theoretically we do it, but in practice sometimes it’s just easier to hire someone.

  • My husband and father are quite good handymen. Occasionally we need the professionals.
