Hello!

Has anyone ever heard of a girl getting a rash because of hormones? Daughter (9yrs) has a rash, looks like tiny blisters in clusters on her forearms. She says she gets it about once a month. So I’m thinking it could possibly be hormones? Its super itchy – would this be a hormonal rash? Will be taking her to doc at some point today

  • And ? What did the doctor say ?

  • yes we had that same rash for many months after going to the Dr in our case it was hormones causing it

  • Anything is possible, my daughter has had all sorts. She was diagnosed with exaggerated andrenarchy at the age of six. Your doctor will sort it for you :).

  • I’ve never heard of hormones causing a rash like that, but also, I’m no expert.

I’d guess it’s either a heat rash of some description, or maybe an allergy. Or could it be irritation caused by a particular item of clothing? Perhaps take note of what she’s been wearing just before she gets it?

  • Best bet is to get it checked by doc

  • Hope its all worked out ok :)

  • My son gets something similar, I think its more an allergy. Apparently pollen levels peak on monthly cycles.

  • is it a heat rash? severe if it’s hormonal. good luck.

  • If I were you I would head to the drs to have it checked.

  • it sounds more like an allergy to something and possibly at that time of the month it is more distinct. Should really go to the doctors when the blister’s have flared up so they can do a few tests.

  • It could be – I started my period at 9

  • I wouldn’t think this would happen at 9 ..

  • Would love to hear what the diagnosis was from your trip to the doctors? I used to get hives every now and then as a child, which would mostly come out on my arms, but I don’t remember it being blistered. It was from a reaction to something I’ve come into contact with, such as a plant, or different brand of washing powder I wasn’t used to.

  • hormonal on her arm, how weird.

  • Really interested to find out the answer to this! My son used to get hayfever coinciding with the full moon, the doctor said it can happen as apparently there is more pollen then. So I was wondering if it could be an allergy?
