Start the children helping with chores from an early age and build up as they become more capable. Make a list of what you need to get done and allocate a time to do it. When making a one pot meal such as lasagne, pies, soup etc make more than one and freeze one for later. The same applies to bolagnese sauce or anything else along those lines.
I’ve had to let go of the house work. I find that if i spend my time cleaning, cooking etc then the kids dont get any attention from me, which makes both them and me upset and angry.
If you are able to afford it – outsource.
Don’t stress about it! Set yourself small tasks to do every day and if you don’t get around to it try not to be too down hearted about it… My house is never anywhere near as clean as I’d like to be anymore but my daughter is happy and healthy and gets plenty of attention…
I do try and utilise the 2 hours I get during nap time or the time after she goes to bed….
Lots of great suggestions here. I have one more – don’t stress! My house is only ever half clean. Its important to spend time with your kids than worry about what your house looks like. I went through a stage where I was continuously fighting against the mess and it was really so exhausting and I turned into a grumpy mum. Its not worth it
