How long made up formula can be kept for?

Hello!

I would love to know what other mums think about how, and how long made up formula can be kept for? Do you make it up first and keep it in the fridge until you need it? Or make it up when it’s needed and then if not used within a certain amount of time – chuck it? I’d like to hear some suggestions on best methods with this. Thanks!!

I think it would say on the formula tin how long it will last when made up, how long the formula will last once opened, and storage specifications of dry and made up formula.

Prepared infant formula can spoil if it is left out at room temperature. Use prepared infant formula within 2 hours of preparation and within one hour from when feeding begins. If you do not start to use the prepared infant formula within 2 hours, immediately store the bottle in the fridge and use it within 24 hours.

24 hours, i only pre make his night time bottle all the other are fresh

I was always advised 24 hours maximum, but I used to try and make it less than that, not worth the risk of a sick bub just to save a few hours.

I am pretty positive that it is no longer than 24 HRS

I used to make a few bottles up and keep it in fridge (heat when needed). I never kept it in fridge for more than 24 hrs.

does it say it on the tin,i’m not sure myself but that should be something they put as info for people.

The day you make is the day you should consume, if it is still in the fridge the next day then don’t use it.
