I was told when she was a few weeks old it is normal for a baby to go up to 7 days without a poo. (poor things).
She is just over 3 months now and goes about once a day. is this normal? And if she doesn’t do a poo for a whole day and isn’t in pain is that ok? or should I be concerned??? just curious.

  • Check with your early childhood clinic. Some babies poo daily, others do not. Two kids for me, two different poo routines.

  • My daghter has always been everyday but if she goes two days I dont stress

  • Your baby is completely normal.

  • She sounds perfectly normal. All my kids fell into the habit of once a day, with occasional variations (more or less poos per day). And they’re all fine.

  • Breastfed babies have their own routine, over a couple of days with bottle fed I would be concerned

  • they don’t have to poo everyday, especially breast fed babies

  • Wouldn’t be to concerned. They can be very irregular with their poops!

  • mine went up to 12 days without poo and then pooed 8 times per day after …lol

  • there are some good comments here

  • its normaly but if your worried you can go to the doctors :)

  • thats normal dont worry .

  • My Miss went over a week – was fully breastfed. Sometimes up to a month. It wasn’t a prob as breast milk is st pure and that was her only dietary intake. Check with your MCHN if worried :)

  • My 5 month old only goes every 3rd or 4th day and has gone up to 9 days without pooping. When she did go it was two days of massive poop explosion coming out of the front and back of her nappy. Her pead said its completely norm for beast feed babes to go days with out pooping as breast milk to so easily digested and simply too good today waste so their bodies absorb every bit. Once they start on solids it changes again, and they start to have daily bowel movements. I’d just keep an eye on her wet nappies akin sure she is having at least 4 heavy wet nappies means she is getting enough

  • I think you are worrying about nothing! Sounds like normal

  • Sounds normal to me – I wouldn’t be too worried about it
