  • My husband took only the day of the delivery off

  • My husband took two weeks as soon as our child was born.

  • Partner had to work, couldn’t take time off. Mum was only and hour away but she didn’t bother. Mum in law was in another state. So I did it alone, for the first one

  • We didn’t have any family around us. (They all live in Europe)
My husband accumulated some holidays and then he stayed home for the first 2 weeks. For the next 2 weeks he worked just in the morning and came home at lunch time. After those 4 weeks (I really enjoyed his help) I felt confident enough to stay alone with our daughter.

  • Hubby had 1 full week off then one week where he was mostly home but went to work for a few hrs here and there. I had the option to have family help but I didn’t want it. I was sad to see hubby go to work but I’m also pretty confident in myself as a mum so I was comfortable doing my own thing, some ladies are different and might want that extra support. Hubby was super helpful when he was home though, he took on the responsibility of dinner/dishes/washing clothes if I hadn’t managed them for atleast the first month.
