I gave up on that a long time ago. Our laundry is also the toilet and backyard shed so there’s stuff everywhere. We do have 3 cupboards and 2 sets of shelves, but it never seems to be under control clutter wise
I have a washing basket for dark and light wash. I wash it, hang it out, when dry iron and fold it and put it straight away. I will not do a next wash till the last one is put away. In practice this means that my wash never piles up.
Keep all detergents etc in a cupboard – have a small basket / caddy for sponges and small bits and pieces. Also have laundry hampers that clothes get sorted in straight away. If the hamoers can go inside a cupboard then the mess can be hidden
My laundry isn’t tidy until the washing is done. Which as we know, is never completely done. Our laundry hosts our pantry, washer/drier, deep freezer, sink, cleaning items, bin and dog food. We don’t have the luxury of space but less is definitely more. Re-home non essential items
I’ve made life easier for me in the laundry as I’ve been using the new Radiant colour sort washing liquid that I can wash dark & lighter clothes together. It works!
I have a washing basket with lid on for each member of the family, they put their laundry in it I sort and wash. Once all done it goes back in the basket delivered to the said member for them to put away. Even the youngest in the house (4) knows how to do it
