I had an early ultrasound due to have two blighted ovums.. my hcg is doubling as it should.. but they seen a gestational sac but no yolk sac or fetal pole. I was told it was measuring about 3-4 weeks instead of 5. I have minimal pregnancy symptoms which seems to come and go.. is there hope this time around??

  • Do hope that by now things have resolved. Pray you are all OK.

  • We had no yolk sac at 5 weeks, As long as your HCG levels are rising things should be ok. Hope your next ultrasound you get to see the little flicker of a heart beat

  • It can be way to early at 5 weeks to see anything on an ultrasound. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and nothing was found except for a thicker uterus lining. He is now a very healthy 3.5 month old boy. I dont understand why drs send people that early for a scan its causes more stress then good. Hope everything works out for you

  • Like the others have said its hard but its just a wait & see. I think its common not to see much until 8 weeks. Its a great sign your hcg is rising. I had the opposite where my hcg wasn’t rising but I had a fetal pole. Thinking of you. Pls update us. Everyone is here to support you.

  • I’m hoping you get all that you are hoping for. Most of the above doesn’t mean a lot to me, but I pray all your hopes and dreams come true

  • Have it check for a moler pregnancy, I had a partial moler pregnancy

  • Yes I think it’s too early still. Even though you have ur date of LMP, dates can be off due to ovulation, implantation etc. but 5 weeks it’s not uncommon to not see the yolk sac or fetal pole. That’s why ultrasound scans are left to at least 7 weeks along – as it’s clear either way.
Try not to stress too much (easier said than done) and only thing u can do is wait a couple more weeks. Good luck to you.

  • Still early. Don’t stress, give it a few more weeks and you’ll get a clear result from ultrasound. Just don’t let it stress you.

  • Its still very early theres no need to be too concerned just yet. At 7 weeks from LMP I measured 5 weeks and had no heartbeats. They are now healthy 2-year-old twins. Wishing you luck xx

  • It’s early days and hard to say and I’m not a professional. I’ll be praying for you, xx

  • I think you will need to wait a little longer to get the answers you need xx

  • 5 weeks is pretty early for a scan however I would be guided by the professionals. All my early scans that measured small unfortunately resulted in a miscarriage. Wishing you all the best.

  • I’m not a professional, so id be asking them but you can always hold hope and have faith that when its time, it will happen. ???? best of luck

  • There is no way of knowing that, until waiting a bit longer. It’s horrible waiting but if the weeks aren’t matching up with your LMP, it does sound like a miscarriage. Sorry that you are going through this again
