Hello!

I know I should be taking pre pregnancy supplements but just wondering if I should be giving my partner anything in particular to help us if we are trying?

  • Some say yes men should take prenatal vitamins, they have different nutritional needs than women — so couples can’t share the same supplements. There are key ingredients men should look for in prenatal or fertility vitamins, including antioxidants, zinc, and folate.
But even more so I think they should like women look at physical & mental health, maintain a healthy weight, reduce exposure to toxic substances, stop smoking, drinking alcohol or taking street drugs.

  • My partner was told to take zinc while we were struggling to conceive. Not long after he started we got pregnant, not sure if it was coincidence but worth a try. Please speak to your doctor before starting any natural remedies

  • There’s the male version of Elevit called Menevit. Not sure how much of a difference it makes because if there were more serious issues there’s not much you can take for that.

  • Yes, there are particular supplements for men, though I can’t remember the name. Check a chemist.
