Just wondering everyone’s thoughts on age wise to move into a toddler bed. My daughter is 14months and is already trying to climb out of the cot. Just wanting thoughts and maybe success stories

  • I moved my eldest to a bed when he was just over 2. He woke up terrified from a dream and simply wouldn’t go back in his cot. My youngest is 18 months and is starting to try climbing out. He will move into a bed as soon as he figures out how to get out. I think its safer to be in a bed than to climb out of a cot and potentially get hurt.

  • Every kid is different. I moved my daughter into a single bed (bunk bed) at 17 months. The bed was quite low to the floor so it was safe if she rolled out, which she did a few times. She handled it beautifully. My second child was 19 months when he transitioned to a toddler bed. Also went well. Now my 2 year old baby is still in a cot! If your baby is trying to climb out I would definitely move her
