  • We have a gap of 3.5 years between our two. It’s great because the eldest was just that little bit more independent when the baby was born. Now that they’re older, the younger one is upset about having to wait to do everything the older one does. I don’t think the gap really matters – they will find some way to whinge about it!

  • My two are 10months apart, I fell pregnant 6 weeks after the first and the second came a bit early. we obviously hadn’t planned for such a small age gap and It was hard while they were both young as our little girl hated her younger brother for a good year lol.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend it but I wouldn’t change either as they are now best friends (most of the time) and it is so beautiful to watch how they look after each other :)

  • There is 9 years between my 2 boys as I unfortunately had multiple miscarriages between their births. I believe everyone has a different idea. To me I would have liked to have about a year between their births to give my body a chance to rest. No matter what you decide it will work out for you.

  • There is just under 4 years between my son and daughter. It was the right age gap for me mentally and physically. I feel that If i had a child any sooner I wouldn’t have been able to deal with pregnancy and I”m glad I waited.
    Each person is different

  • We have 4 children. 12 years between the first 2 and second 2. The gap between them is 2 1/2 years. This gives you time to enjoy their young years and time when the older one goes to school.

  • I have an 8 1/2 year gap and yes the same dad it just how it worked out it was sort of planned but it’s great the eldest is a fantastic help she always wants to help and adores her

  • 13 months between first and second, then 17 months between second and third. I absolutely loved having my babies nice and close. I was very busy but it was a lot of fun. It is always a good idea to just be flexible and go with the flow.

  • There’s 3.5 years between my kids. I wanted a smaller gap by hubby wasn’t ready. It’s worked out well because my oldest is a little more independent which really helps and while she’s a kindy I get one on one time with my new baby

  • Mine are 37, 34, 31, 16, 6 & 6. There was a girl between 37 and 34 she would had been 36. The younger three were surprises as was told no more children and hubby had the snipe done. He never checked as no more came for a while. After the twins I had the snipe as was 51 at the time, too old myself for anymore surprises.

  • 23 months. Seemed like a blur at the start but wouldn’t change a thing and managed at the time.

  • 22 months between my 2. I wouldn’t have wanted the gap to be any smaller, it wasn’t until my son was about 20 months that he really understood what was happening.

  • We have 2 years between ours it was great

  • my kids are 18, 16, 5 and 3. I have three step kids 17,16 and 13. the gap was so huge for us because I became infertile and needed a few surgeries to get me back to normal.

  • i have 5 year gap between each of mine – def has its pros and cons

  • My boys are 15 months apart. Nurses told me my uterus needs 18 months to recover between children. My obstetrician told me that was rubbish
