As long as it’s not due to stress or any other health issues it should gi away its because all the nutrients is being fed to your baby it happens and it should go away eventually
Congratulations on bubby and it does get better. I had it the worst 3 time round. I even dyed my hair blonde so you couldn’t notice the bits at the front so much. It took me about a year to notice it coming back thick again. I did find out that I was still very low in iron so that might have been my problem. Take care.
It will stop! I think 3 to 6 months was the worst. I remember it slowing down but still lasting possibly a few months from then. But one day I noticed a normal head of hair again!
Going through this now, and I remember with my first baby, feeling self conscious for ages because my baby hairs looked like they had static or something! I don’t recall the hair loss finishing til quite late with my first, well after the first year anyway. I even got a fringe to try and “hide” the hairs (not recommended). Postpartum hair loss does stop eventually so don’t lose heart! Just take care of your hair and be extra gentle with it til then.
I was told it is more likely to be a problem if your hair/scalp is dry for too longand if you have long hair it needs a lot more nourishment. I was also told if you massage your scalp too much you are rubbing on hair that is trying to grow back.
My hair loss started about 5 months post partum and has only just stopped (my son has just turned 12 months). I’ve noticed, that despite the horrendous baby hairs, that it is growing back quite thickly again! Good luck!
I feel your pain
I had post partum hair loss (and also hair loss before that as well). I’d been recommended to use therapeutic grade Rosemary essential oil (I use doTERRA) in my shampoo and also massaged into my scalp. Admittedly I haven’t done the massage bit (I keep forgetting), but I’ve definitely noticed a bit of an improvement since using it in my shampoo. I have been told you need to use it ongoing for a while. I know a mum who got an alopecia bald spot post babies and she completely recovered using the oil also.
It’s not suitable however if you plan on getting pregnant again soon as it’s not recommended during pregnancy. Since starting to use essential oils I love them so much, I now sell doTERRA also if you would like to give it a go. You can contact me or check out some of my posts and contact me through my Facebook or Instagram pages Everyday Awakenings.
First step I recommend is to do some google reading on Rosemary EO for hair loss to see if you feel it’s something you might like to try. Female hair loss sucks
My girlfriend had this really bad, worse after her second baby. Hers has just started to die off now after 8 months, but she was told it has no time frame
I have no answers for you sorry but I was just wondering the same thing this morning as I seem to be still losing large amounts of hair and my baby is 19 months old. My hair loss didnt start till he was over 8 months so I thought I had escaped it but it just keeps falling out.
