This flour is great quality and is now a pantry staple in my house, I have heaps of packs sitting in my pantry it’s so affordable. I’ve been baking up a storm with this flour, I find I don’t even really need to sift it as it’s already quite smooth and not at all clumpy. It would have been great if the pack were resealable but it’s not a deal breaker as I’ve never come across a pack of flour that is so I can live with it. Impressed!

I have purchased many Black and Gold products including this plain flour which I use mainly to make pizza bases. The flour is consistently good quality and my pizza bases always taste great. The price is very reasonable for a one kilo pack and it’s one of the few items that hasn’t gone up significantly in the past couple of years.

Plain flour is a staple product for my chocolate chip cookies! It was so easy to work with and of course produced the most amazing cookies!

At first I found this product packaging really difficult to open it was glued/sealed very well and was quite the struggle to get it open but otherwise it was just as quality and texture as expected for a plain flour product and was just as good as branded flour products

Literally can’t fault it. I have been using expensive ‘brand name’ flour for as long as I can remember, but won’t be doing that anymore. This flour is just as good as any of the branded products. Nice and light and fluffy and can be used for anything you would use plain flour to- as a thicker, making snitzels and even pizza dough like we did last week. The price is pretty good and the 1kg bag is handy for some of those smaller recipes.

Being close to an IGA, this is the only Plain flour I buy. It is used in every recipe that calls for plain flour and I have never had any issues. It makes great biscuits, slices and fantastic Flat bread that goes well with Butter Chicken. The only plain flour you’ll need.

I recently tried the Black & Gold Plain Flour (1kg) and Black & Gold Compound Choc Chips (250g) to make choc chip cookies. This flour is an everyday essential and great value. It appears to be the same quality as other brands and was great to use for baking. It’s exactly what you would expect when purchasing plain flour. I was a little dubious when using the choc chips as I usually use chocolate Chips (not compound cooking chocolate) in other brands when baking. The Black and Gold choc chips are quite small and tasted ordinary before baking but were fine once baked and a budget friendly option. I made choc chip cookies, and my kids loved them – they even stated that the “smaller the choc chips the better, because you get more” and “they are really good”. So, both products passed the kid taste test. I would purchase again.
