  • Nice snack

A cheeky treat we keep in the pantry as a quick recess or just to grab during the day or in lieu of dessert. A classic biscuit, tastes delicious and keeps for longer than expected. Would recommend for families everywhere who just want a go to biscuit to keep in the pantry.

  • Great for slices

I used a pack of these Black & Gold Scotch Finger Biscuits as a base for a chilled cheese cake and the crumb was lovely. They are the perfect level of sweetness and have such a light feel. They are a great price when compared to other brands. I’ll be buying them again

  • Nice with Tea

My husband wanted to buy a pack of these Black and Gold scotch finger biscuits to compare them to the more expensive brand and he was surprised at how good these are given the price difference. I like them too, and will buy these every now and again as a nice biscuit to have with my coffee or tea.

  • Black & Gold Scotch Finger

Pleasant taste but not too buttery. They gave that satisfying snap perfectly breaking in half! Perfect to dunk in a coffee! Great value

  • Delicious!

IGA’s Black and Gold Scotch Finger biscuits are the perfect afternoon tea treat. Lovely and crisp, and the right amount of the classic buttery flavour you expect from a Scotch Finger. Very impressed with both the product and the price point. Goes great with a cuppa too! Will be repurchasing for sure.

  • I love a biccie with my cuppa

After moving all day all I wanted was a cup of tea and a biscuit. I love scotch fingers but only buy Arnotts. Black and gold version were better than Arnotts and I couldn’t believe it. So good

  • Delicious Bickies!

My kids were never a fan of Scotch Fingers,
as they were a bit bland for their liking,
however, they polished off the packet of these.
I stashed these away to have with a coffee,
and by the time I actually went to have one,
    they had been demolished.
These will definitely be a frequent purchase,
and hopefully I’ll get one in the future!

  • Mum loves these with a cup of coffee

delicious rich butter flavor. I brought a packet of the scotch finger for my mother (these are her favorite and she loves them. She said “why spend more on the same item and no comprises on flavor). It seems a packet will be coming home with me every time i head to mums for a coffee

  • Huge win for my toddler

I have a very fussy (bouge) toddler and loves these. Have tried other home brands to no avail.
But these have been a hit!

  • Just as good as any other brand

Scotch Finger biscuits are my favourite plain biscuit. These Black and Gold Scotch Finger biscuits are sweet and are melt in your mouth texture, just like any other brand. They don’t crumble apart in the packet, are firm but buttery and yummy. Yes, you can make them yourself, easily, but why would you want to at less than $2 a packet – it’s excellent value for money. I’d be happy to continue to purchase the Black and Gold Scotch Finger Biscuits in the future.

  • Great for cooking

I used the black and gold scotch finger biscuits in the base of a cheesecake I was making. The biscuits had a nice buttery sweet flavour and held their form well in the base of the cheesecake. I even ate a few will I was cooking and they were really lovely on their own so I would happily buy them again to have with a cup of tea.

  • Perfect with tea!

Scotch fingers are a favourite at my household. I recently tried the black and gold brand and love it. It’s delicious with my afternoon tea. I’ll be definitely buying more

  • Delicious biscuits

Great tasting biscuits wouldn’t know they weren’t the proper brand. Definitely buying again

  • Fooled Husband

Excellent value. Great texture. Tasty and buttery. Served with cup of tea (tea made with Black and Gold longlife milk.) Husband couldn’t tell the difference between this and our usual brand. I managed to sample two biscuits before he devoured the entire packet in one sitting. I would highly recommend and will purchase again.

  • Great tasting product

These are handy to have in pantry for unexpected guests. They taste great and are affordable. Great to have with a cup of tea. My husband was very impressed with them and asked me to buy more in the future. We would recommend these and would purchase again in the future.

  • Family Favourite

The black and gold scotch finger biscuits were very buttery like the more expensive brand but half the price. My kids loved them and didnt stop at just eating one. Definitely will be buying them in the future as better value and taste. Winner in our family which is sometimes hard to do

  • Delicious!!

My toddler and wife loved these Scotch Fingers, they went down a treat! I think the second we purchased them in store my toddler wanted to eat one, they didn’t last the car journey home! The price point and quaintly of these biscuits are great! We will definitely be buying these again to have with a cheeky cup of tea! Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get a photo as they were eaten tooo quickly!

  • And then there were none.

These scotch finger style biscuits did not last more than five minutes in my household once opened. With a slight softness to them they go perfectly with a cup of tea, or with a bit of butter and spread….that is if you can get any before hungry teenagers do. Definitely winner in our home

  • Just as good as the big brands

Crisp, buttery and just the right amount of sweetness these scotch fingers pair perfectly with a hot cup of tea or coffee. A great biccie to keep in the pantry for guests or everyday snacking. Great for biscuit base in cheesecakes too. So versatile

  • Black & Gold Plain Scotch Fingers Review

Almost identical to the original brand of these biscuits. Had we not had the OG to compare side by side maybe I wouldn’t have been able to tell but there is a slight differnce in taste. The Black and Gold brand does taste less buttery maybe but none the less still just as great and value for the price.

  • Just as good as Arnotts

You would never know that these are the IGA home brand product. They taste and look exactly the same as the arbitrary brand. Buttery and crunchy and easy to break into two to dip in your morning tea. The only thing I would change is the packaging which is a bit boring but otherwise a great try!

  • Yummo!!

Perfect coffee and biscuit break with these delicious black and gold scotch finger biscuits. Such amazing value and the quality is fantastic. Scotch fingers are one of my favorite and I will definitely buy this brand again they are great. So tasty, can’t wait to try the rest of the biscuit range.

  • Yummy yummy yummy

Perfect with a cuppa coffee. Taste is great and quality is definitely up there. Great for a quick little sweet treat. Love them.

  • Scotchy

We love our scotch finger biscuits so I was rather curious to try the black and gold branded ones. I was surprised to find out they were actually quite nice. And a very affordable everyday price! They get eaten with no complaints in our household, much loved scotch biscuit house!

  • Perfect for dunking in a cuppa

Iga black and gold Scotch Finger Biscuits
To be completely honest, i really didn’t expect much from the budget range… but these Black & Gold Scotch Fingers? They are Buttery, they are snappy, and they are perfect with a cuppa. Cheap, delicious, so fresh!! I think theyre an absolute win.

  • Great budget friendly biscuit

I recently purchased the Black & Gold Scotch Finger Biscuits (250g). I thought they were a little dry but overall, a good budget friendly option. Would be a great option to use in deserts, biscuit bases, etc. Kids also enjoyed eating them as is and in lunch boxes. I would purchase again.

  • Great tasting product

These are handy to have in the pantry for unexpected guests. They taste very similar to more expensive products on the market. I would consider buying again and would recommend. They are easy to eat and not too crumbly. Have a nice taste. Would be good if the packet was resealable.

  • Great tasting product

These are handy to have in pantry. Nice to have for unexpected guests.

  • Tastes ok

These aren’t as tasty as other brands I’ve tried. They don’t have the same buttery flavour. They would be good to use as an ingredient for the base of a slice, cheesecake or other dessert but for something to just have with a cuppa, I would probably reach for something else.

  • VERY PLAIN TASTING BISCUITS

These Scotch Finger Biscuits do not taste buttery at all they mainly taste like a plain Biscuit very dry.
The health star rating is very poor at 1 star. The only plus I can see for these biscuits is that there are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. I would not buy these biscuits again.

  • Reminds of my nana everytime I have a biccie and my coffee in the afternoon

On special this week at IGA, and I couldn’t resist!
Every time I have these biccies, I’m instantly taken back to afternoons with my late Nana sharing a hot coffee, Milo, or a smooth cup of tea.
A true memory favourite from childhood right through to adulthood.

These buttery, crispy biscuits are perfect on their own, for sharing, or as a pantry staple you’ll always reach for. Honeslty they don’t last long in this household unless I hide them in the back of the pantry.

Each bite is rich, golden, and buttery.

nothing beats dipping them into your favourite hot drink and soaking up all that goodness.

A classic treat that’s delicious, and incredible value for money, the essence of what you’d expect from Black & Gold branding to be.

Thanks to my IGA Mouths for Mums gift card, I was able to grab this product and complete this review.

  • Perfect crunch

Only a few packets left on the shelf and most were crushed and you could hear the crumbs when gently shaken. I chose the one that I believed had the least broken bickies.
Enjoyed with a hot cuppa and kept the rest in a container. Will use the crumbs in baking. Pleased and price point is excellent.

  • Scotch fingers

Didn’t really taste anything enjoyable.l or exciting.Where ok with a coffee but nothing exciting about them. Good price but not something I would buy again.. poor health rating!
