I recently tried caraway seeds for the first time (Hungarian goulash, absolutely making again!) and this was the only brand in the grocery store that sold these seeds. They had such an intense aroma. It’s so unique; bouquet of earthy scents like thyme, with some almost mint like freshness. They added wonderful flavours. I had read that there is no substitute for caraway seeds for authentic goulash, so if your recipe calls for it make sure you get some Hoyts brand seeds.

I am a fan of cooking with a range of products and that includes caraway seeds. They are such a good source of fibre and easy to add to recipes.

These make the best goulash. The smell of caraway seeds reminds of me of my grandmother and her German cooking. Fragrant and unique.
