Hello!

it was june 4 2012 and my partner and I were on our way to the hospital for a routine tonsillectomy and agnoids op aswel as rinoplasty to correct my nose everything was normal we were there at 7am and called in a few minutes later so we said our goodbyes and was told I would only need to stay for the night. I was a little nervous as it was my first op they gave me a gown and stockings and prepped for the opp reassuring me that it was all normal and nothing could go wrong… or could it

as I started to wake I felt the most preassure being pushed into the side under my jawline and could hear my name being called over and over but couldn’t reply I could feel my body shaking and I couldn’t control it I was seizuring over n over and was taking into critical care unit and was barely conscious everything hurt. when I finally woke enough to be semi alert my wonderful partner was at my side extremely worried although the seizures continued for 5 days while drs tried to work out what was wrong they ended up picking up a small issue in the left frontal lobe causing epilepsy. now 1 year on I have been seizure free since the op and back to living a normal life

  • Wow how incredibly frightening, especially after what is a simple and routine surgery.
