What a cheap holiday activity to keep the kids busy and active? Go on a family bike ride! I like to take my kids on a 10klm circuit that is broken up with stops at two playgrounds and a viewing platform to watch the water birds. The terrain is fairly smooth with no nasty big uphills. I also pack snacks or a picnic lunch to have along the way. Our bikes rides can last anywhere between an hour to 3 hours, depending on how long we take to stop and play. My kids love it and so do I.
